Assigning Resources

I am new to the set up and configuration of Project Server 2003. So Far I
have been pretty successful in the Installation and the configuration thus
far. I have some issues with Resources and the assignment thereof

1. I created my list of available reources to pick from. I imported them
into the Enterprise and they all show up on the server as my list of
resources.

2. I create a project and under the resource name I place the name of the
particular resource in that field. Does That "technically" assign that
resource to that task?

3. When I go to Project Web and select the Resources menu item and select
one of my resources (One that I know was assigned to a task on a project) and
select APPLY I get a message that says the following

There are no assignments available for your selected resources.
None of the resources you have selected have any assignments.

Any idea of what I am missing?

Dave --

1. Did you add these resources to the Enterprise Resource Pool? If not,
you didn't do it right.

2. To add resources to a project, you must use Tools - Build Team from
Enterprise. Did you do this? If not, you did not do it right. To assign
resources to tasks after adding them to the project team, you can use either
the Assign Resources dialog or the Task Entry view.

3. The error you see indicates you didn't do #2 correctly, and perhaps #1
as well.
