Assigning Tasks

Although the "assign task" button shows on my outlook task bar, it will not
activate when clicked. What is wrong?

We don't know what is wrong with your sparse description.

Version of Outlook? Exchange server or not? Internal or external recipient?
How are you trying to assign the task?

Good points Milly. I'll try again wilth more detail:

I am using Outlook 2007. Under Outlook 2003 I was able to initiate both
appointments and tasks for the specific contact within which I was working.
I cannot determine how to do that from within the contact in Outlook 2007.
Clarification...I do have an "assign task to this contact" button showing on
the tool bar; however, it is not activated! I cannot locate any option for
assigning an appointment to the contact. Note...this installation of Outlook
2007 has the email disabled if that makes any difference.

You will need outlook setup with an email account to assign tasks - that's
how it sends them to the assigned user.
