Associating emails with tasks

I often have a number of email messages that I get and send that are as a result of a task I have set myself. I would like to be able to associate these with the task, so that I could see what has happened on the task. Is there a way to do this?

What about using the same category on the task and messages? You could then
use Advanced Find to see all items with that category.
