Auto-advance of slide doesn't work on second visit to slide, why?

If a slide is visited a second time by a user, the auto-advance no longer
works. Is there a way to make it to continue to auto-advance no matter how
many times the slide is visited?

You must save it as a PowerPoint Show instead of a presintation

You need to put a blank slide before the one with auto-advance, and link
back to it. PowerPoint always returns you to a slide after all the events
have been completed.

There is no difference between Presentation and Slideshow other than how it
opens. If the presentation is opened by the PowerPoint viewer doesn't make
any difference if it is a .ppt or a.pps it opens the same way in the slide
show mode. If your using PowerPoint and double click on a .ppt it will open
in the Edit mode. If you double click on a .pps it will open in the
Slideshow mode. If you use the File Open method both .ppt and .pps will open
in the edit mode.
