Auto-archive a folder tree?

Is it possible to auto-archive a folder and its child folders, without
having to activate aa on each folder individually? Using OL2003.

Thanks,
Andrew

Yes, see the message I just wrote to Juanita with the subject of 'Outlook
Archive Folders'.

That message says that the folder structure will be recreated in the archive
PST, but I want to select one folder in my mailbox and have AA process items
in all its subfolders. I have quite a large tree of folders, each of which
has the AA checkbox cleared by default.

Oh, unfortunately I don't think you can do that unless you want to
archive everything to the same archive file. If you archive everything to
the same archive file and go back through all of your folders and make
sure they are set to use the default AutoArchive settings then it will do
what you want. However, if, like me, you want to have some folders
AutoArchive to separate archive files then you have to go through each
and every folder and sub-folder and set their AutoArchive override
settings individually. Plus, if you create a new sub-folder you MUST
remember to set it's settings also or it's items will get AutoArchived to
the default archive folder. Every once in a while I go through my default
archive file and check for things that shouldn't be there. This tells me
where I have forgotten to set the settings for an individual sub-folder.

Yes, this sucks. I wish they would add some form of inheritance to the
settings within the folders and subfolders but they haven't yet.
