Auto Recovery

When I open a word document the Auto Recovery window comes up with a file
listed as recovered. When I click on the drop down option the three opitions
are, open, save as, or delete when I click on any one of them it then takes
me to a screen that says word cannot open, delete or save this file I click
ok it then says it cannot read from the source file or disk......
please help.

The question is where is the file actually located? If the file is on a
CD, copy it to the harddrive before trying to open/use it. If already on
the harddrive, then look at permissions on the folder it's located in.

Thanks for the reply, the file is on the hard drive, however, I don't know
what folder it is located in because I can't actually open it.

Oops, belay my last. What if you open My computer and r-click D:, select
Properties and then Security, and then look to see what permissions are set?
