auto save, auto backup

I am using Office XP in win 2k pro. There is no auto save
option, anyway i can have auto save option?
Also when i use auto backup option, the backup file is
saved in the same folder a the original file. Whats the
point of backup then? What if my HD crashes? I want to
have backup on a network machine. Selecting a backup
option should give me an option to select a path where i
can have \\terminal4\d\reports\backup.xls.
And want to have auto backup every minute.
Is this possible?
