Automatic update of resource availability

I had a resource setup with 80% availability. I then assigned the
resource in the GANTT chart. He appears correctly Peter[80%]

I go back into the resource sheet and change is availability to 100%.
The Gantt view does not update.

Is that how it's supposed to work all the time?

Is this a default setting that can be changed?

Hi Peter,

As you have discovered, changing the maximum units for a resource does not
change assignment units. You could:
1) turn off the display of summary tasks (Tools> Options, view tab)
2) filter the project using the Using Resource... filter.
3) Select all tasks in the view
4) Click the Assign Resources button, select the resource whose maximum
units you have changed.
5) Click the Replace... button and in the Replace Resource dialog box,
select the same resource and enter the new maximum unit in the Units column.
6) Click OK to close the Replace Resource dialog box.
7) Click the Close button to close the Assign Resource dialog box.
8) Turn back on the display of summary tasks (Tools >Options, view tab).

Thank you soooooo much. That's a great strategy to work around this.
It would be nicer if Project prompted you as to whether or not you'd
like to update existing resources, but whadda ya gonna do?

You are very welcome Peter and thanks for the feedback. There are a number
of places in Project that can be somewhat "tricky" in what gets changed, but
as you said, whadda ya gonna do?
