autoshapes and word art

i have Microsoft office 2000 and when i insert word art i don't get any
colour but when i look on format colour and lines its there but not on my
screen. and also, when i go to insert an autoshape and fill colour nothing
happens. I am a web design student.

In the Windows Control Panel have you turned on the
'high contrast' settings in the Accessibility dialog?
