Hi, I am working on my first brochure! I am using a screened-back photo to
make the background - however, the program seems to select which portion of
the photo it displays. Is there a way I can select which part of the photo
it puts on the background?

If you are using format, background, Publisher will tile the photo. The only
recourse is to crop the photo in such a way that only the part you want is
visible. You will have to do this in an editing program or crop the photo in
Publisher, save as a picture, then browse to the cropped image when you insert
the background.
