Backing up Outlook for Mac 5?

M

Mark Shainblum

Hi all!

My wife is attempting to transfer her Outlook 5 email files from an
iBook running OS 9.x to her eMac running OS X.

The problem is, we simply cannot figure out how to back up e-mail in
Outlook for Mac. The problem is complicated by the fact that I'm a PC
guy (yeah, yeah, I know... a mixed marriage) AND I use Eudora on top
of that. Nevertheless, unless I'm sadly mistaken, there doesn't seem
to be any backup utility in Outlook for Mac, and I can't find the
mailbox files as I would in Eudora. I assume Outlook hides and
encrypts them in that typical, evil Microsoft fashion.

If anybody could help out, we'd really appreciate it. Please cc your
reply via e-mail to (e-mail address removed).

Thanks!

MS

P.S.: On top of all that, my wife wants to switch to Eudora for Mac.
Are we dreaming in Technicolor, or is it possible to transfer the
Outlook files to Eudora?

Hi Mark,

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express?

It's Outlook Express, actually. Thanks for the correction.

Hi Mark,

Take a look at the following article:

261094 OLEXP: Outlook Express 5 for Macintosh Readme File
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=261094

About half way down there is information about moving Identities. That is
the section you need to go through.
