Baseline Work in Schedule not in Data Analysis

All,

I have found a situation where the Baseline Work for some schedules does not
appear in the Data Analysis views even though it is viewable both in Project
Pro and in the PWA Project Center. And, I have schedules where the Baseline
Work appears in Project Pro, PWA Project Center and the Data Analysis views.

The only difference that I think exists between these schedules is when the
baseline was applied. I know that the schedules that DO show baseline work in
the data analysis views had a baseline set prior to the schedules being
published to the server. And, I believe the schedules that are NOT showing
baseline work data had the baseline information applied after they already
existed on the server.

I know this because there was no baseline data appearing in the Project
Center views for some projects so I requested the PMs be sure they were
“rolling up baseline data to all summary tasks†when adding tasks to their
schedules. Now these schedules show baseline data in the Project Center views
but still do not show data in the Data Analysis views.

Any idea what may be wrong or how to correct this?

Gary,

Sorry, I am using 2007 with the Dec CU, hopefully soon to become the Feb CU.

I was trying to find a solution to this and added a task to one of the
schedules that does show baseline data and rebaselined and rebuilt the cube,
the new baseline information appeared in the DA views. I know a PM who
rebaselined yesterday, his is one of the projects that does not show any
baseline information in DA views, and he still does not have data in the DA
views. I know he originally did not have baseline information because it was
not showing in the Project Center views, so I made sure he was baselining and
rolling up to all summary tasks. Now he has baseling info in the Project
Center views but still no data in the DA views.

This problem is fixed in Feb CU.

Well... I installed the Feb CU in my Dev environment and updated my client. I
saved and published two identical schedules, 1 with a baseline set and 1
without a baseline set. In the Project Center both projects showed correctly,
1 with baseline data and one without. I rebuilt the cubes and in the Data
Analysis views again 1 showed baseline data and the other did not. I then
added baseline information to both schedules and saved and published. Again
both schedules displayed the new baseline data in the Project Center views. I
again rebuilt the cubes and there was no change in the baseline data....
prior to the hotfix at least the project saved with a baseline would update,
now neither project updates to show the correct baseline data.

Did you check if the time phased data are in the reporting database
before you rebuilt the cube. There is a view called assignmentbyday.
Look into that. That may help you to isolated the problem.
