Basic Q about Resource Calendars

I've been a trainer for MS Project for some years and have been able
to work, at a simple level, with resource calendars, with no
difficulties.

I have recently been upgrading my knowledge to vresion 2002 and
providing training to a new client.

As usual, when creating a new resource, a new calendar is created. I
then go into Change Working Time to make specific changes to that
calendar. However when I go to the Resource Sheet I am unable to
specify that the resource is working to their own calendar because it
is not listed in the relevant drop down.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Each resource has its own inherent calendar, no need to pick it. A
resource's working time are exceptions to a "base" calendar that you pick in
the Resource Sheet. Doubleclick on a resource in the resource sheet to edit
their working time.

Thanks Jim
I knew each resource had a calendar created automatically and was able
to change their working time.
What I hadn't understood is that Project now uses that calendar for
them by default. I had thought one had to set this in the Calendar
column in Resource Sheet in older versions but am likely remembering
incorrectly anyway!
I now notice that in the project I had been using to test this all the
resource calendar WAS being applied even though it didn't seem to show
in Resource Sheet.
So where one selectes "Base" in Resource Sheet one is effectively
confirming that the resource should work from their OWN base calendar
as opposed to the project Standard one?
THANKS AGAIN
