What is the difference between identities, profiles, and user accounts?
I know more or less what a user account is but when the other two words pop
up i have no idea if they are referring to the user account or something
else.
thanks,

Indentity = Outlook Express construct to keep different configurations &
such

Profile has two different potential connotations. One of them is OS level
and linked with user accounts where each user has their own directory of
data files & settings (a profile). The other one is related to Outlook (not
Outlook Express) where a profile is a set of settings & data files for using
the program (where your mail/data is stored, mail account settings, etc).

User account = OS level concept that defines a different person logging into
a machine. Used in conjunction with the first definition of profile above
