HI All
Before I install New Genuine Office 2007 what can I uninstall in my
Vista
Control Panel/Add/Remove. I have so much Microsoft software in there I do
not want to delete certain file's I have saved in Word/Notepad and Abode
which may be attatched to one of those older programmes like Office 2003 etc
etc.your valuable advice please once I have uninstalled what I do not require
I will then install the New software from Microsoft.and stick to one and only
I have been using Office Works and it is fine should I keep that as an
alternative.

cheers

You dont mention which exact version of Office 2007
If you have an earlier version of Office installed the installation of 2007
should offer to upgrade the existing.

Uninstall Works, its not needed

Hi DL
Why I purchased the original version of Office Pro.Plus 2007
Applications Student Media thro. my Daughters School with a licence for 2
units My PC and my daughters Laptop.
the problem was when I came to use Word it shot up a message saying that
this version on your PC is not genuine and I bought this PC as a New unit
from Aldi's UK and the software was already installed maybe it was a timed
programme , and I did not purchase it so I have now.
What programmes I have installed on my PC are Microsoft Works (which you
have said is not needed) Microsoft Office XP Pro./Publisher 2002 I have a few
documents saved in Notepad / Microsoft Word And Adobe format when I uninstall
the the ones mentioned above will they also uninstall the said documents
prior to me installing the New vwersion of Microsaft Office Pro Plud 2007.
Thanks for contacting me so soon.
I awit your earliest reply please

Well, technically you are violating the EULA for the software that you
purchased. The exact wording is:

"How many computers can I install the software on?
You may:

a. install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or other
device;
b. install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.
"

Your daughter, if she is the primary user of YOUR computer can then use the
software on her laptop but if you are the primary user of YOUR computer then
you are in violation unless you are the exclusive user of your daughter's
laptop. Hmmm, how did it know you were in violation. Maybe your daughter
installed it onto her friends computer and didn't tell you..... still a
violation.

Users are allowed to purchase ONE version of this Office product for each
eligible student. About Software4Students
Software4Students was launched, in 2005, as a pilot programme to provide
software for students and parents in disadvantaged schools. Due to its
phenomenal success in helping bridge the digital divide Software4Students has
been expanded to students and parents of 33,000 schools in the United Kingdom
and Ireland, covering nearly 18 million students. As a leading supplier of
Microsoft software and solutions to the student and education community,
Software4Students is the largest and original programme for supplying
software to school and college students and their parents.

We supply home users with fully-functional Professional (not Student and
Teacher or Home Edition versions) software. Because of our affiliations with
Microsoft and with education institutions, we are able to supply these
products at hugely discounted prices (typically discounted by 80% or more).
Put simply this means you (the home user) get more software at a much lower
price.

The main requirement in this programme is that the end user licensee is a
student in one of our participating schools/colleges. There are 18 million
qualifying students in the UK. It is very easy to register all you need to do
is give the student name and school/college they are in, provide your address
details and you're done!

Actually the information I posted is from the site you copied your
information from. It is part of the FAQs about who qualifies, etc. I'm not
accusing you of anything, just stating fact.

Look at http://www.software4students.co.uk/FAQ.aspx#q27 about half way down
page under the topic of my original response.

Now, as for your issue about installing. Since you "have not installed ...
anything yet" your error message is coming from the previous version of
Office that was installed. You must remove the trial version of Office that
is installed by the manufacturer and any activation assistant (assuming
Vista operating system, Control Panel, Programs and Features.) Reboot the
computer and then install your Office Pro + using the license key that was
provided with your Office install DVD.
