"Blank" record in data analysis

I created a project with 2 tasks, saved and published to Project Server 2007,
and built the cube. Creating a new Data Analysis view, selected the Task Non
Timephased cube, added the Project List field to "drop filter fields here",
deselected all the projects and selected my new project, and added the Task
Count field to "drop totals or detail fields here". The total task count
shows 3, although have only 2 tasks in this project.

In an attempt to verify that this project only has 2 tasks I went to Project
Center and can see my project, and clicked on the project name (hyperlink)
where I see the Project view. The project shows 2 tasks in it's Project view
(that shows all tasks and has no filters).

I've played around with this and it doesn't seem to matter how many tasks I
have in my mpp, in Data Analysis it shows an extra "blank" task. Even though
this is only 1 extra record per mpp, it does create a problem. What is
causing this "blank" task and how can I get rid of it in Data Analysis views?

Hi Gary, your books are very helpful btw!

This blank row in the PivotChart and the PivotTable is a problem because we
want our count to be 100% accurate.

I can go into the Row field or Column field filter and uncheck the "blank"
so the blank is not counted. If the field always contains data (no blanks)
then this will be an accurate count...so no problem. If the field could
actually contain blank data then I want that counted (as a blank)....if I
filter out blanks then these aren't counted and if I don't filter out blanks
then the count is off by 1 because the summary task is counted.

I guess what I'd like is to not count the summary task 0. Would that meet
my requirements? Is there a way to not count the summary task 0?
