Booklet, back to front, landscape 1/2 page

Dear fellows, I hope someone can help me. I want to publish a club
handbook that is printed on 8 1/2 X 11 folded in half. This
effectively would have the first page printed with the last on the
same sheet. Just like a magazine is printed then stapled together.
The problem is I don't know how many pages will be involved so I just
can't start by typing the first page and the last page on the same
page and printing. The number of pages will change several times a
year. The question then becomes...is there a template or program that
will do this for me? In other words, allow me to type the pages
sequentially and when I'm finished rearrange the pages for proper
printing regardless of how many pages are involved. Years back in
another life I remember a Mac program that allowed me to do exactly
what I want, but I can't seem to find it for Word.
