Bottom margins in Word

he bottom margins in Word will stay at the default of one inch and then
suddenly go to two inches up from the bottom of the page. It happens at
paragraph changes. I can backspace the paragraph and and bring up the
preceding page, but when I press 'tab' to indent the paragraph, it goes to
the next page again. I'm a former WP user and am getting used to the 'quirks'
of Word. Can anyone give me a hand?

See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BottomLine.htm. Possibly you still
have "Define styles based on your formatting" checked on the AutoFormat As
You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options. Or you're taking advantage of
"Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces." In either case, Word
may be applying a different style when you tab to indent, and that style may
be formatted as "Keep with next."

Thank you for the help. Also in 'tinkering' I found if I clicked 'justified'
in vertical alignment, it also helped. Suzanne, can you tell me where "Keep
with next." might be located in the Auto Correct Options. I couldn't find it.
(sigh) sorry.
Thanks again,
Scrcrow

You, too, can be amazing: just spend 14 years using Word (six versions),
exploring all the menus and buttons and dialogues to see what they do. <g>
Actually, if you do the latter, it will take far less than 14 years.
