Bucket tasks?

I am currently recording non project time for resources and in order to
do this we use 9 set tasks which we set as bucket tasks. They have an
2001 hour work set meaning they will always appear in the resources
tasksheet allowing them to enter as much time to this task as they
would like. The problem with this is when looking at the resource
availability the bucket tasks make it unreadable. Can you think of a
way of having a task that will always be in a resources task sheet but
will not confuse their availablity?

In the future, please post your Project Server questions to the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is closing
down. To answer your question, I think your process is flawed since your
process is screwing up availability. You should use an Administrative
project that creates "empty buckets" into which people report their actual
time spent on administrative tasks. To create an Administrive project,
click File - New and then click the "On my computer" link in the sidepane.
Click the Enterprise Projects tab, select the Administrative Time template,
and click the OK button. In your situation, you should remove all of the
default administrative tasks and replace them with your nine "bucket" tasks.
Set the Start date of the project using Project - Project Information. DO
NOT set a Duration value. Assign each resource at 100% units and 0 hours of
Work, and then save and publish the project. Hope this helps.
