Bullet Points

How is it possible to put more than one bullet point on the same line?
For example: At the start of the line, I insert a bullet point and then type
my text. Then I want to tab over 2 or 3 times (I used shift+tab) - I want to
insert a bullet point right here, and then type my text. It doesn't work.
HELP!
