Calendar Defaults

Dear All
Running a resource pool across a number of projects, I am using a calendar
the copy of Standard. When I change the standard hours from 8:00 to 12:00 and
1:00 to 5:00, (to say 7 hours and start at 9:00am) ., the calendar now shows
the new times as "nondefault working time". Should not this be the "Default"
working time for the new calendar?
How do I make a non 8 hour day the "Default" working time, in this regard.
If I change the calendar during the life of the project, what impact does it
have on project history, and is there any danger in doing so?

Hi Pratta,

You have two quetions.
No, 8 hours is "default" and will always stay so. Fortunately this doesn't
influence calculations, it's just a name.
Changing the calendar in the midst of a project will change all dates that
are not "Actual" so if you have been zealous ennough to put all past work to
"actual" your past is not going to change.
But that is not linked to current date but to Actual or Not.
