calendar help

resource is simultaneously working on 2 projects for 2 hrs daily, where as
I being the project manager would like to give him
specific timing for each project.

Eg.

a.. On project A he is working daily 10 am to 12 pm, on Project B he is
working daily from 4 pm to 6 pm,
b.. I want to set a calendar for him which will be for the specific time.
c.. One option can be using a standard calendar else preparing a calendar
for Mon to Sat giving the specific time, like
Mon - Sat 10 am to 12 pm or Mon-Sat 2 pm to 4 pm

If we allocate these calendars, Resource Pool shows the resource is over
allocated, where as he is not, as we are using him for 4

hrs in different time slot even though the days are same.how to resolve
this problem?

Hi sonali ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

For the scenario you quote, I think I'd set it up as 2 different resources
(eg Fred A and Fred B) and set each calendar to reflect the hours you've
stated. Another possibility is to set up 2 calendars, one for the morning
and one for the afternoon and apply it as a Task calendar for those tasks
that need the resource to work that way. Any overallocations should be
overcome by levelling on a hour by hour basis.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
