calendar/shift work

I am trying to set up my calendar and working times to
reflect a (2) shift operation. These shifts are working
6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am, 7days a week. I have tried
several configurations and project is not liking it.

How do I ge this done so that Project will accept what I
am doing.

Your calendar working during the day should be no problem. Just set the
start and end times as normal (don't forget to allow time for lunches - it
cummulates to the point it matters).

The evening hour calendar takes a little more finagling. Remember that the
hours shown on a given day of the week is the hours on *that day* that work
takes place and do not directly correspond to a shift. If Sat and Sun are
days off, think of the hours that work happens on Wednesday. We have a
shift that comes in on Tuesday night and goes home Wednesday morning. So
the first block of time *on Wednesday* that work takes place is 12:00 to
0600. Then there's a shift that comes in Wednesday night and goes home
Thursday morning. The part of that shift *that is worked on Wednesday* is
1800-2400. So you calendar would show two time blocks 00:00 mid to 6:00 am
and 6:00 pm to 00:00 mid. If no one comes in on Saturday or Sunday evening,
Friday shows 0000 - 0600 and 1800-2400, Saturday one block 0000-0600, Sunday
nothing at all, and Monday one time block 1800-2400.
