can I choose the application that will show a graphics file?

On my webpage I have a link to a graphics file (tif file). On my system I
have several applications that I use to view graphics files, including tif
files. Apparently the app that is the default for opening this file doesn't
like the format of the file, and I get an error message and the file doesn't
open.

I can change the defaults for which app willopen the file but I know this
might be the case with others who try to open it. Is there a way to specify
the app that will open the file?

Thanks.

Wouldn't everyone's computer have their own set up as a default to open a
graphic file (or any link)
I didn't know the person who makes the webpage could specifiy what opens
the file on each person's computer.
If you post the link here I/we can see what and how it opens for us.
Maybe I'm not following what you mean and how it relates to Publisher.
Which isn't saying much because I'm not an expert (LOL)

You can change the association on your own computer. Right-click the .tif,
properties, opens with...change. Most folks know what viewer is right for them
and their systems. Some .tif images can be quite large, are you sure you want
something large on your server?
