Can I have a Multi-Line display in Project Gant view?

Some tasks have Notes on them and want the notes to display immediately below
the task line, if possible, instead of on a separate page.

Using MS Project Professional 2003.

Inserting the Notes column allows you to display the shortest of:
1. Entire note
2. 255 Characters
3. Up to the first carriage return.

In all cases, this will appear adjacent to the task.
