Can I have Project link several tasks around 2 constrained tasks?

I have several tasks in a phase. A few of the tasks have constraints as to
their start or completion date. The other tasks can be done around the
constrained tasks. Can I get Project to create the links of all the tasks
around the constrained tasks for me, or does this have to be done manually?

MW,
Well first of all you should think very carefully about constraining
tasks. A start constraint is one thing, (i.e. task starts independently
in the middle of the overall plan), but setting a completion constraint
is trying to force the issue and totally defeats the dynamics of a true
schedule. Take a look at the Deadline field - it likely will do what you
need without artificial constraints.

With regard to linking, the only automated linking is either via
Tools/Options/Schedule tab - autolink inserted or moved tasks, or
Edit/Link tasks.

Hi,

The question is why can't the other tasks be done simultaneously to the
constrained ones?
Generally it is because tehy use a common resoruce.
Assign that resource to the taks that need it and use Resource leveling, it
will nicely plan the "free" tasks around teh constrained ones.
