Can I transfer Office 2000 from my old computer to my new one?

If your copy of Office 2000 is an OEM version (preinstalled by the
manufacturer of your computer), then you cannot transfer it to another
computer. If your copy of Office 2000 is a retail version (purchased by
you from Microsoft or a conventional or online retailer), then you are
allowed to install it from your Office 2000 CD to your new computer if
you uninstall it from your old computer. You cannot "transfer" Office
directly from your old hard drive to your new hard drive. Remember to
back up your Outlook email files, Word template/autocorrect/dictionary
files, Excel template files, Powerpoint template files, etc., from your
old computer before uninstalling Office.
