Can I use a main dictionary in Word 2003 and not custo dictionary?

Are there any benefits from having a custom dictionary, that is shared on one
compute?

The custom dictionary allows you to add words that are not in the main
dictionary but that you don't want marked as misspelled. Such words include
proper nouns (names of people, companies, places, etc.) and technical terms
you use frequently.
