Can MSP show multiple tasks/milestones on one line in the Gantt?

I'd like to show multiple tasks/milestones on one line. Can that be done in
Project 2003?

PDevil,
Sorry, Project doesn't have a lot of flexibility when it comes to
graphics presentation. The only way to show multiple tasks/milestones on
a single line is to configure special formatting at the summary line
level. There have been posts in the past (i.e. last couple of years) in
this newsgroup detailing how to do that (one reference I found was:
"schedule with multiple items - one bar" posted on 17 March 2004).

You might also want to take a look at a Project add-on made by Kidasa
(Kidasa.com) called "Milstones".

Hope this helps.

You can trick multiple tasks and milestones into appearing on a line by doing
the following.

Create the tasks and milestones.
Indent them under a summary task
On the Task Information box for the summary task, check the "Hide Task Bar"
box
On the Task Information box for the tasks and milestones, check the "Roll Up
Gantt bar to summary" box
In Bar Styles, format the milestones and bars for "Rolled Up" to appear the
way you want them.

With the summary bar hidden, all you will see are the milestones and tasks.
You will notice.

Greg,
That is basically what the reference talks about but I guess it is nice
to have the details right here. I might point out that this approach
only works if the subtasks are separated in time, otherwise the line
gets real cluttered if the subtasks are concurrent or overlapping.

Thanks,

Phill,
By making sure the desired field is indicated for the task bar on the
roll up. For example, look for the bar style that describes
"normal, rolled up,not summary" tasks and put the text in or around the
task bar. All of this is done under Format/Bar Styles.

Just for reference though, task names should normally contain a good,
(action verb based), but short description. When rolled up for inclusion
on a single summary line these descriptions will be very cluttered.
