Can not install Office 2003 Pro on desktop

I attended an Office System Launch and was given a trial
version of Office Pro 2003 and OneNote . I was able to
install on my laptop and my desktop. I received the full
version in the mail, so I uninstalled the trial (it would
not let me upgrade) and installed and activited Office
Pro 2003 and OneNote on my laptop. I then installed and
activated OneNote on my desktop. I installed Office Pro
2003 on my desktop, but was not able to activate. I
called the number listed for phone activation and they
told me the install key # was invalid. They suggested I
uninstall and reinstall. After doing this 4 times and
afer spending almost 3 hours on the phone between the
activation dept, customer service and tech support, I was
finally given a new Key #. I uninstalled Office and
tried to reinstall using the new key #. The number came
up invalid. This morning I thought I would try again, so
I started from scratch, using the original key #. Same
errors.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions or do
I need to spend another 3 hours on the phone.

Couple of things to watch for - 8s and Bs are pretty similar. Other
combinations of letters and numbers that closely resemble each other can be
problematic as well.

I can not get the trial version from the event to
activate on my laptop. It loads fine but when a program
loads to activate it, it can not find an internet
connection. I tried all the help feature had to offer
including setting my active X protection down. The phone
method is not active and tech support will not help. Did
you have this problem? Does anyone know how to activate
it without connection, microsoft says no support on their
end because it is trial. This is not redeeming itself to
when I get the full version also.
