Can not receive email

I have just purchased a new HP Pavillion. Outlook 2003 trial copy came installed. I have alsp loaded Yahoo DSL and my earthlink dial up accont. I can not receive email in outlook. I can send email perfectly find. I can howevr receive email in Yahoo and in Earthlink. What could be the problem. I run this same configuration on my HP laptop ( DSL and Dial up) and have had no problems

Any ideas
