Can someone please help me with Outlook 2007 inbox views

I currently use Outlook Express but have had Outlook 2007 for a few years
but have not used it. I would like to start using Outlook 2007 and have
started to try and customize the look to my liking, however I am having
trouble figuring out how to have my messages show up in a single line
without the "space and delivered" under each message. I want the same look
as OE without the preview pane.

I would also like to customize the format of the text that appears in the
message section
