Can you apply a calendar to a group in MS Project?

I've divided my resources into two Groups: Toronto and Pune. I've created
two different calendars: Ontario and India.

I'd like to find a way to set all the people in the Toronto Group to use the
Ontario base calendar and all the people in Pune to use the India base
calendar. Do I have to set base calendars one resource at a time?

Tamara,
The newest versions of Project have a lot of whistles and bells and
there may in fact be a way to do what you need. However, I sometimes
find it is easier to use a simple VBA macro to do something than it is
to ferret out that special procedure. Here is a simple macro to do what
you want. I'm assuming you have used the Group field on the Resource
Sheet to identify the Prune and Toronto resource groups.

Sub Res_Calendar()
Dim r As Object
For Each r In ActiveProject.Resources
If Not r Is Nothing Then
If r.Group = "pune" Then r.BaseCalendar = "India"
If r.Group = "toronto" Then r.BaseCalendar = "Ontario"
End If
Next r

Hope this helps.

Hi Tamara,

Filter the resources on Group
Enter the right calendar for the first one
Copy down (like in Excel)

Jan,
Indeed sometimes I'm so close to the trees I don't even see the forest.
