Can you print a partial page of labels in Publisher 2003?

I know that in Word you can print partial sheets of labels by specifing row &
column numbers. If this possible in Publisher 2003?

This is something I've wondered, too.

I set up labels with fonts and sometimes little pictures on the side,
in Publisher 2000. I don't think this can be done in WORD?

Sometimes I don't want a whole sheet. What I have done is cut the sheet
of labels in half. When the printer gets to the end it stops and says
it's out of paper, and I can cancel it.

A few weeks ago I found this group in newsgroups, and could see how
much I could learn from just reading here. But, right after this, my
newsgroups stopped working. I asked the ISP, who said they had stopped
offering newsgroups 2 years ago (stopped paying for them) but they kept
getting them, until recently when they were cut off. Apparently I was
the only one who asked what happened to them (LOL)
I just remembered I can get the newsgroups through google, even though
it's slower and harder to follow.
Take between Publisher, and Adobe PhotoShop, which I'm also learning
(on my own) I don't want to do anything else, especially HOUSEWORK!
I put off as much as possible, and tell myself I'm learning and it's
an investment in my future- whatever that will be. At some point maybe
it will all come together.

Welcome, Carrie!

What I do is to save the label designs in Pub that I like. Then I can copy
and paste into Word when I only need one or two labels. I have to weak them
a bit but I'm not wasting labels.

And just so you know, there are several Photoshop newsgroups and Adobe has
one on their website as well. They are not the same group so you may want to
visit both. (I use Photoshop Elements so I've used them as a resource.)

Thanks

Just when I started looking for newsgroups, they stopped coming in.

I know there are PhotoShop Yahoo egroups. Seems like so much I want to
learn and do and not enough time in the day (or night)

I didn't know you could copy/paste labels into Word, with the
formatting and pictures, etc? Do you do it in the label
(envelope/label) box?

I have a hard time with that, seems like it doesn't stay where I want
it, even when I type it in a document and it transfers into the label
box.

I also have a new printer (Lexmark X5150) which seems to clash with
Publisher, like I can't get them both set up so it prints right.

But, I think that's another topic.

I paste it into a document of an entire sheet of the blank labels. Funny
thing is that tonight I went the other way. I copied a business card
designed in Word into Publisher. Much easier to make a change once than 10
times. :)

As for your printer clashing with Publisher, please explain. Have you looked
for updated drivers?

It doesn't address your Publisher issue but if you want a newsfeed,
individual.net do an inexpensive (10 euros per year) newsgroup
account. No binaries though. This would allow you to continue using
your normal interface which is almost certainly easier than the Google
interface IMO.

You can get this newsgroup and all the Microsoft public newsgroups for free
through the msnews.microsoft.com server.

Thanks Ed. I'll look into it and see if I can figure it out (LOL) I
found a few ways of getting the newsgroups free, but you couldn't post
on them. Also one was $13 a year, which isn't bad, but they didn't let
us try it first to see how it worked, of if we liked it.

I think I kind of hijacked this thread about the labels with another
topic

I've seen your name before on newsgroups, not sure if it's another
one, or when I used to get them via Outlook Express.

Sometimes I feel like such a sponge, there's so much I want to know
and do and learn.

Old dog- new tricks (LOL)

I did get the latest driver from online (instead of the cd that came with
it).

I meant the settings were clashing. Like I'd set up in Publisher but the
printer wouldn't be set right and that would override- or the two together
(being different) would mess it up.

The more I learn the more I realize how much I really don't know (LOL)

This group seems really patience with newbies and inexperienced. I've been
on groups where they ignore you if you aren't on their tech level, or don't
have expensive equpiment to brag about (LOL) Like who just bought the newest
$2000 camera, etc.

Not microsoft groups.

It's nice that so many who know about this are so willing to help (here)

With a lot of programs you can set your printer up and be done with it.
Publisher is printer-picky. You need to make sure that your printer and
Publisher are both asking for the same thing.

As for learning how much you don't know - that's life. And those who think
they know everything - well, generally they know nothing.

And since I only paid $150 for my digital camera, I guess I'd be scorned by
some of those people in other groups. My response would be
Pbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbt! :)
