cannot archive a particular folder

I have one folder that is large (approx 24,000 message)
and has 10 subfolders ....I cannot archive this folder to
reduce its size... it looks like its archiving but does
not... Is there a remedy for this

Outlook takes a look at the following properties to determine eligibility
for archive.

1) Received date
2) Sent date
3) Last modified date
4) Do not archive bit

Blank (null) dates are treated as 1/1/4501 and will never be eligible for
archiving.

The dates are fine .... perhaps the "do not Archive
setting" is stuck in the registry or something... At one
point I had this folder as do not archive... do you know
where in the registry this could be checked?

Have you checked the archive properties for each of the folders & subfolders
to make sure they're set to auto-archive. Also, have you checked the
modification dates on the items to see if they're eligible for archiving?

you can take a look at two places.

1) for folder itself - right click on folder and select properties. go to
the archive tab
2) each item - open item and select file | properties

Aah... I found the problem... the modification date for
most of the files is today.. not sure why... is there
anyway to change the modification date?
