Cannot change table settings in Word 2003

Hi - i am using office 2003 on a windows XP machine

I imported a table with contents from excel and now I am unable to change
the cell sizes or other properties of the table.
i jave tried using table -> table properties as well as dragging the lines
but it keeps reverting back to its previous state. It also seems the table
lines are greyed out?

Hi Stadinx,

How did you bring the data from Excel into Word?
If you used paste, try using Edit=>Paste Special
and see what formats are available and selected
