Cannot close PST file-"Operation Failed"

Nelson Ramos

I had been using a PST "Personal Folders" file to get my
POP mail. A few days ago, I became part of an Exchange
server and now receive all without problems my mail to
that "Mailbox" file.

I now no longer want to use that "Personal Folders" file
but cannot close it. When I attempt to do that, I can
an "Operation Failed" message. How do I get rid of that
file so that Outlook doesn't reference it on the folder
list?

Thanks!

One thing that you could try is remove the data file in Mail setup
First open the control panel, then find the mail setup and clik on the button that is labeled 'Data Files...' and from there you can clik on the file you want to remove and clik on the remove button. The pst file will still exist on the hard drive but you won't see it in the folder list

The data file has been removed from the Mail setup. I
cannot close the PST file and get it off my folders view. I
get an "Operation failed. Object not found." message.

Thanks!
