Cannot download any 2006 templates - any work around?

No one at my company can download any of the templates off the MS website -
only have some old 2005 templates - is there any other source for these
templates? Is it a site problem?

If no one at you site can download, perhap talking to the IT folks at
your company would be a good place to start troubleshooting.

Of course - I opened a ticket with them, but they were unable to download any
of the files either. They said there was probably a problem with the MS site
- nothing they could do about it. So, I sent an email to the MS site, but
have not heard a response.

I see 1 of 2 messages after hitting download, during the download -then it
aborts to a server busy mesage or just returns to previous screen frozen
there - -
"download ?"
OR
% shows for a while, but then it aborts

You might try again today; they seem to be working fine from here, anyway.
At least you'll be able to tell your IT people that the MS downloads are
working.

I believe you need to allow ActiveX controls for these downloads. Also, you
may be seeing issues if you're downloading, for example, a Publisher
template but you don't have Publisher installed. The templates actually open
up in whatever application they're designed for.

I continue to get the following message:

"This template could not be downloaded automatically
An error occurred when Office Online tried to download this template to your
computer. This error might have happened for several reasons, such as a
network error or a busy or unavailable server.

To solve this problem, you can click your browser's Back button and try
again or download the template manually."

And, yes, I tried the manual method several times as well.

And, yes, I checked on the Active X thing yesterday - still no go.

Thanks for your suggestions - will tell IT your inputs.

You might clear your temporary internet files folder.

I think there have been other threads about this in the past. [Thanks for
the error message text -- that's sparked my brain a little. :) ] I'll see
if I can turn anything up.
