Cannot edit file

R

Richard Mahan

What could cause a file to be uneditable? I had a file that I edited and
saved the results. when I later opened the saved file, I could no longer
edit it.

Can you edit other files?

What happens when you try? Do you get an error message? If so, what does it
say? Please don't paraphrase.

R

Richard Mahan

I tried a different file and didn't have a problem editing, am I then
correct in assuming that if you edit a file and then save it, it is no
longer editable?

No, that's not correct.

Can you do *anything* to the file? Add a text box or a picture? Change the
size of the paper? Anything?

Did you save the file to a removable disk? It will be read only if you did. Did
you activate Publisher?

I saved the file to my hard drive after editing. and yes I did activate
publisher. as I said before, I have tried another file and did not have the
same problem so for now it appears to be working. I haven't had much
experience with publisher and would appreciate a reference to a good
tutorial. Thanks

I would think that amongst all of these sites, you'll find something to
suit. As for the file that won't work, can you send it to me? If so, send it
to jl dot paules at gmail dot com.
