Cannot fully install new copy of Mac office 2008 due 2 previous tr

I had the microsoft office trial 2008 for mac which I used and it all worked
fine, but when the trial did expire- i went out and brought a copy of office
for mac student and home edition.

In the instructions is says that I had to delete the previously installed
trial before installing the new copy, when I did so, and tried opening Word,
Excel, Powerpoint etc, it says the new software isn't been installed properly
due to an old trial version still on the system. But I've deleted any MS
docs, programs of my computer, to the best of my knowledge.

It's really fustrating as microsoft don't themselves offer you any support
unless you pay like £47.00!

Please can anybody help?

It's probably the receipts in this location:

In the Finder toolbar under Go, paste in this path:
/private/var/db/receipts

Remove all com.microsoft....plist files in this folder.

Also check the old location for receipts too.

Remove all office2008...pkg receipts in /Library/Receipts
