Cannot mail merge queries

We have Office 2003 and have run into a major problem. When we try to do a
mail merge from an Access database only the tables are available to mail
merge from and no queries are listed. We have also tried using the mail merge
wizard in acces by highlighting the query and then selecting the mail merge
which just bring up a list of tables.

There is a check box for "VIEWS" this will show the querys but I cant get the
querys to get any data. the data from tables work but not from any query. I
cant find any way to manually edit the data source information to correct the
bad path it generates. does anyone know how to get these querys to work as
they did before. If I use an old file that worked before, it still works.
