Adobe Acrobat is the big one but there are several low-cost/free
alternatives that can be used to create (but not edit) a .pdf file. I've
recommended PrimoPDF quite often. Even tho I have Acrobat, I have Primo
a
installed on my system as well. (I have it to provide support for friends
who use it.) It's a great little program that is very easy to use. Oh -
and it's free. My favorite price.

Can you tell me what application is required to send it as a pdf file.
again I thank youfor your assistance.......Richard
Ask the sender to send it as a .pdf file if getting the software is an
issue.

Thanks JoAnn, I would do that but the problem is that it's a file I
will need to download on a weekly basis, since it is updated weekly.
so it appears I will have to get the software somewhere that will
allow me to open it. I do appreciate the offer.
Send it on to me at jl dot paules at gmail dot com. I'll convert it
into a .pdf file for you.

I just need to open the file not to edit.
No. Do you need to be able to edit the file or just see it?

I have a file that was created with Microsoft Publisher and I do
not have that program on my computer.
Is there a way to rename the file so that I can open it with word
or another program?
