However, you can get the text, in Word, file, open, files of type, scroll down to
"recover text from any file."

Frank, in addition to the other replies you have received, there are two
other solutions. Open your publication in Publisher and go to File > Save As
File Type change to Word *.doc. This will export your Publisher
publication (less graphics and objects) in Word format. If there are
graphics and objects that you need to retain, you will need to copy/paste
between Publisher and Word.

I am having problems sending a newsletter I made up in publisher 2003, I send
it as an attachment by email but no one is able to open the file. I was
saving told by somea firend to save it in word but when I do I cannot open it
in word. I sent only to person that have publisher 2003 and still it doesn't
work. Any other suggestions. I was also told to do the newsletter in Word
instead of Publisher. What good is having publisher if you can not use it.

You can use Publisher just fine - it's the others who are having issues.

I'd suggest sending the newsletter as a .pdf file. It won't matter which
version of whatever your viewers have. Converting the newsletter to Word
means you lose formatting and graphics. Not what you want to do, is it?

I have found that my viewers enjoy getting my newsletters in .pdf format.
their favorite part - it's in color! Our organization can't afford to send
out color copies. Especially on the issue I'm working on now. I need to send
out almost 2000 copies. :)

Know anyone who wants to help me label and stamp these things? I can supply
the iced tea and maybe even some brownies for the help.
