Cannot open projects/project professional from PWA project center

Devaraju

one point, I was able to open projects using the PWA project center in the
usual fashion. Something has happened that is causing this to fail with the
error:

"Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 is required for this action.
Ensure that your copy of project professional can connect to this server. If
both of these conditions are true and you still get this message, contact
your system administrator for assistance."

I am able to connect to projects using project pro and opening projects on
the server. Our manager wants to drill down to projects from PWA like before.

Can someone help with this please?

Thanks...

I'm assuming you can connect to PWA okay ! Do you get prompted for a
password when you connect ?

Has your password changed recently ? if so, delete the password cache
(control panel usernames & passwords)

Have you tried deleting all project server profiles in proj pro, and
recreating a new one. Set this profile to default, auto connect.

Let me know how you get on.

Take a look at some of the responses to the posts under "PS2007 Cannot edit
global resources" started on 4/9/2008. Appears to be some sort of issue with
an update or patch? Some folks are looking into this.

I experienced a similar issue and it had to do with how the pwa url
was entered into the project server account inside of Project
Professional 2007. I had the url that points to my host header which
caused the error you are experiencing, so I simply added a new account
with the url that included the servername (http://servername/pwa) and
set it as default and removed the other account. That did the trick
for me...hope this helps.
