Cannot preview of open any email with an attachment

I am unable to open or preview any email in Outlook 2003
that has an attachment. This includes old emails I have
previously opened. The program locks up and I must to the
Task Manager, End Task procedure to close the program. I
have run "detect and repair" with no difference in
performance. I have created a new .pst and imported my
old .pst with no change. Any help would be most
appreciated.
