Cannot search sub folders in a pst file

I use Outlook with two mail stores, one (ost) reading directly from the
server whilst the other is a pst which is fed from the ost using rules.
For some reason the "Search In" option is greyed out when I use Find on the
pst file.
This is not so for the ost file. Can anyone explain this
