Cannot share outlook calendar in 2003

I am trying to share calendars. I have Outlook 2003 and my boss has 2007.
He has sent me the link to view his calendar, we have both registered our
hotmail accounts, but when I click the emailed link I get an error message
and cannot access his calendar.
