Office update fails on the installation of selected Office updates using the
Microsoft Office update service.
Office updates fail on install when manually installing updates.
The Operating System is Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2 64-bit
The Office version is Office 2003 Professional (32 bit)
The initial install of Office went flawlessly and office Activated just
fine. The individual products all work... I just cannot update them to any
service pack level.
Has anyone experienced this behavior? I found a Hotfix that talks about
32-bit applications running on 64-bit platforms performing in ways contrary
to design. I have requested the Hotfix and have not gotten it yet. I will try
it and see if that fixes the problem. However, while waiting I wanted to see
if I could learn through someone else's pain.
For obvious reasons I would much prefer to not purchase another version of
Office unless I absolutely must...
