can't access my emails thru Outlook

I cannot receive any email using MSN Outlook (since Sat.,
4/10/04). Wed. 4/15/04 MSN issued an Alert for Outlook
and I downloaded their patch, but I still cannot get any
emails thru Outlook. I have to use a web-based mail.
Anyone else having similar problems?

Umm there is no such thing as "MSN Outlook". Do you mean you can't get your
MSN mail in Outlook?

I've been having problems since last weekend as well. As
it happens I had just updated Office XP to SP3 and now
Outlook 2002 can no longe send/receive email. System
restore did not help, neither did uninstalling Office XP
and reinstalling to SP1.

After further digging I ran across MS Knowledge Base
Article 834365 which led me to suspect that somehow the
settings in McAfee Firewall had been changed from full
access to "blocked" - this was the case and now it works
fine. I don't know how the settings could've been
changed.
