Can't change the State of Proposals

We are using the proposals to capture potential future projects. However,
when a user creates a proposal and they don't have the Change State
permission it seesm no-one can change it later. I have admin access but when
I go in to the proposal there is no State field showing. Other proposals do
have the State field.

Hi dleonard ,

This sounds like a server function. Try posting on the server newsgroup.
Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs, companion products and
other useful Project information can be seen at this web address:

I think a default permission in Project Server 2007 is probably the reason
you have this problem. Try the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions.
2. Click Server Settings - Additional Server Settings.
3. In the Project State Field section of the page, select the No option.
4. Click the Save button.

Let us know if this helps.

I forgot to mention that in the future, please post your Project Server 2007
questions in the microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this
newsgroup is dedicated to the Microsoft Project desktop application only.
Hope this helps.

Following SP1 this issue seems to have been resolved. I had already pursued
your suggestions to no avail. Thanks for the feedback anyway and thanks for
directing to me to the more appropriate forum.
